Description
When the dark magical force within him challenges his effort to forge new alliances and build a defense against a new threat, Nikolai Lantsov, the young king of Ravka, embarks on a journey to his country's most magical places to vanquish it.
King of Scars is a duology (series of two books) by American author Leigh Bardugo, set in the fantasy world of the Grishaverse.
The epic adventures of the Grishaverse take place in Ravka - a world in which magic and science collide. They started with The Shadow and Bone trilogy and the story continued in the Six of Crows and then the King of Scars duologies. Each series follows a different set of characters and story, set in the same fantasy universe.
Leigh Bardugo's books will be coming to Netflix this April, with an exciting new adaptation which covers both the Shadow and Bones (formerly known as the Grisha trilogy) and Six of Crows series.
The King of Scars books pick up back in Ravka, one year after the end of the Six of Crows series. The story follows young king Nikolai Lantsov as he tries to rebuild Ravka and fight the dark magic within him.
Whilst King of Scars is a brand new story, so can be read separately, it’s best to read the other books in the Grishaverse first, starting with book one Shadow and Bone.
